2019 Fall Fixtures

October 2019

Dead Pheasants greatly improved, but lose on last play of match,
27 to 26 at home this past Saturday to arch rival Buffalo State.
It really was a great match. NU falls behind early 17 to 5, but felt good, as they were able to move the ball some.

After half time the Pheasants were on the front foot and scored 2 converted tries to go up 19 to 17, a late penalty had BS kick for 3 and they were up 20 to 19 with 3 minutes to go.

Niagara stole the ball and 4 passes layer scored a thrilling go ahead try, conversion was good, so one last play, NU 26 BS 20, they kick off we do not field it and our long time rivals put it down under the post, made the easy 2 pointer, whistle comes and we are stunned, losing 27 to 26. Beautiful day, good players, coaches, lots of family and friends cheered all game, and the lads played so well, tough to be a loss, but hats off to our opponent they played well too.

Bye week this weekend but next weekend Saturday Oct 19th at 1pm we host undefeated Geneseo. Asking all NURFC Alumni for some help, if you are in the area please visit practice Thursday Oct 17 at 8pm, and Friday walk through at 530pm, and then the match on Sat at 1pm please.

Our 2 coaches have commitments taking them both away at the same time, and while the boys will be self propelled, any Dead Pheasant input, to help support our young club would be greatly appreciated. I will try to get to all, this Fall season is not a bust, as evidenced by the good rugby they played against DII talent, and our young men are close to being on top, if they keep it going.

Let’s give Geneseo (3-0) their first defeat!
1 win 3 defeats for us
